Topic: Safely Navigating the Middle Ground: Thoughts from an Environmental Moderate
Presenter: Charles C. Reith, PhD
Presentation Description:
What can we learn from Kunwar Ranjeet Singh, India's celebrated moonwalking traffic cop? One lesson that it is possible to get people who are heading in different directions to interact with each other in a smoother, organized flow if you do it with humor, understanding, sincerity, open-mindedness, and even flair. Even if you can’t dance like Michael Jackson, you can leave an impression with your conviction and creative tactics and language.
Charles Reith will share his experiences as an environmental scientist coaching and working with profit-driven businesses, cautious government agencies, and ideologically spirited nonprofits. In a lively discussion, Dr. Reith will walk us through some of his most compelling challenges and will articulate the moderate’s coaching approach toward preserving progress and reconciling agendas.
