Grand Canyon Rim to Rim

Place holder for Grand Canyon Rim to Rim trip. Logistic is being worked on and I will update as the details become available.

Some keys date.

1. Dec[masked] Permit application for Cottonwood camp ground and Bright Angel Campground.

2. Dec[masked] Reserve 1 night for north Rim campground for May 27th

3. Dec[masked] Reserve 1 night for Mather campground for May 30th

4. Jan[masked] Make steak dinner reservationfor May 29th at Phanton ranch canteen

5. Jan[masked] Make breakfast reservation for May 30th at Phantom ranch canteen 5AM

6. Jan[masked] start looking for flight from May 27th return May 31th. (Will extend if i can get permit for Havasu Falls)

7. 2 person (each will reserve a car rental for shuttle Rim to Rim. group limit is 6 PPL. 3 in each car and split rental cost.

Key itineraries

May 27th 2020 Fly into Vegas and drive to south rim to drop off 1 car and continue to north rim and car camp (other option is each pays $90 for bus service from south to north. (still working this logistic to see which is better)

May 28th 2020 Descend from North Rim to Cottonwood campground 6.8 miles spend a night at cottonwood campground. Cook your own dinner.

May 29th 2020 breakfast then break camp to continue to Bright angel campground to spend the night 7.2 miles( 5pm steak dinner at phantom ranch canteen, they also have vegetarian dinner at 6:30pm for those who don't like steak.

May 30th Early wake up to break camp the have breakfast at phantom ranch canteen at 5AM and begin our Ascend from Bright Angel campground to South RIM at 6:30AM : 9.1 miles.

May 30th check into Mather campground and car camp, for dinner we will eat out in South Rim Maswik food court (free WIFI).

May 31th break camp, breakfast again at Maswik food court then drive to north rim to pick up the car then all drive to Vegas to fly out.
