The Good News is an exhibition of spontaneous moments photographed by Zak Zavada in and around Scranton, Pennsylvania. Zak’s images encourage the audience to question their immediate assumptions about their everyday surroundings. Depending on the viewers’ perspective, some of the photographs may seem humorous or mundane, others more evocative in the stark reality that they highlight. They encourage reflection about the community that we live in; offering the opportunity to see the beauty in the everyday; to realize that within a modern world overrun with images that are scrolled past and never to be thought of again, there are quiet opportunities to ponder the sublime at every turn. Zak’s rich, editorial style combines a natural, photojournalistic approach with an artistic attention to detail, lighting, and composition. “The Good News” is a collection of curiosities often nearer to the viewer than they may have realized. Exhibition included in admission price: $7/adults, $5/Students and Seniors, $3/ children aged 6-12 years, 5 and under are free.
