Are you tired of all these new-fangled hooks, gimmicks, geegaws and whatnots in your comedy entertainment?Then come on out to Improv Chattanooga every Friday at 10pm for a Good, Old-Fashioned Improv Show!Every week, we'll play a bunch of old-timey improv games, just like Grandma and Grandpa used to make, PLUS, we'll cap off the night with a good old Long Form scene, just like crazy Uncle Bob used to do when they let him out of the attic.The games we play will change every week, but here’s a small sample of what you might see:New Phone, Who 'Dis? - Two actors begin a scene, but one of them can only speak lines that we get from the messages app on a volunteer's cell phone! Embarrassing? Possibly? Hilarious? Definitely!New Choice - Actors start their scene, but whenever the bell rings, they have to back up and redo the last thing they just said or did.ABC - Think you know your alphabet? Our actors usually don’t! In this game, each line of the scene has to start with the next letter of the alphabet. (It’s a lot harder than it sounds.)Fill In The Blanks - Before the show, we have the audience write words and phrases on slips of paper. During this game, the actors open those slips and read what’s on them into the scene. Once it’s a part of the scene, the actors have to make it make sense.Time Dash - We start with a single scene, and then we jump back and forth through time to follow the characters to see how they got into, and out of, that scene.Spoon River - Five actors, each with their own spotlight, will transport you to the town of Spoon River, where strange things are afoot. You'll hear each character's story, and then see what happens when those stories collide under the big spotlight.So, grab your friends and join us for the weekly Good, Old-Fashioned Improv Show!Tickets are $8 online, $10 at the door and $5 for students.
