Event Description:
Learn how to maximize quality in your portraits while minimizing the fuss. For beginners through working photographers, this includes straight forward, easy to understand techniques for lighting, composition, and reducing workflow with an emphasis on staying portable.
In this lively workshop, you will not only learn useful information for taking better portraits, but for taking better photos in general. Using a combination of classroom style and live demonstration with real time results being shown in the first half of the workshop, David offers a truly unique and effective learning opportunity to the attendees.
In the second half of the workshop you will participate in a hands-on photoshoot with the models, practicing the techniques covered in the first half and getting some great photos. So bring your cameras, lenses, etc. There will be opportunities to try out some supplied lighting as well!
With the help of a live models you will learn and practice:
* Use of LED lighting
* Lighting modification -Reflector Use
* How to pose and create a rapport with your subject
* Color balancing techniques
* Lens choice and usage, and more

David Guy Maynard is an award winning photographer working in Commercial, Fashion, Editorial, Event, Nature/Macro and Fine Art photography. His work has been published in numerous magazines and publications around the world, as well as being featured in prominent galleries and exhibits.
David's technical expertise and practical approach to studio \& location lighting and workflow offers a fresh and entertaining perspective in a lively atmosphere to photographers of all skill levels.
The Cause:
More than 39,000 veterans are homeless on any given night. About half of those are Vietnam era, with the others having returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. (HUD) In an effort to help \& give back to those who courageously served our country, we are collaborating with Volunteers Of America to help fund their Veterans program, bringing much needed help in the form of Mental Health Assistance, Transitional Housing, Reintegration programs, and Vocational Assistance.
A portion of the proceeds from your ticket purchases will go to help fund the VOA Veterans Program. More details here:
