What’s In Our Genes? Short Course
Genetics is constantly in the news, our conversations, and pop culture. Over six weeks, Dr. Mike Perlin (University of Louisville Department of Biology) will provide a basic foundation for understanding genetics concepts and cover such current topics as genetic disorders, genetically-modified foods, human cloning, gene editing (CRISPR), and personalized medicine. The course will provide an appreciation of the science as well as an understanding of the possible positive outcomes, limitations, and risks of these innovations. The course is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. Call (502) 574-1623 to reserve your spot.
