In the summer of 2015, at Harborfront Park in Port Jefferson, in front of a thousand fans, the Long Island Music Hall of Fame awarded Gene Casey with the coveted “Long Island Sound Award – the “LISA” – for “outstanding contributions to Long Island’s (and beyond) music community.”
 
For over 30 years fronting the Lone Sharks, the tri-state area’s premier roots rock & roll band, songwriter & guitarist Gene Casey has “played – and torn up -- virtually every roadhouse, bar, and honky-tonk from Manhattan to Montauk” (BOP Magazine), performed with Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Wanda Jackson and other legends, and produced several CDs of self-penned songs which reflect an original take on the classic rockabilly, C&W and R&B tradition.
