According to the Planning Department, the neighborhoods in the NE sector of the city are some of the least "gentrified" in all of Atlanta but that is changing rapidly as evidenced by the recent moratorium on new development. On this tour you will see, first-hand, the projects that are transforming this sector. You will also get to know the neighborhoods that are in the path of this development.

This is one of a series of deep-dive tours (12-passenger Sprinter Van) that zero in on the development projects and trends that will transform Atlanta in 2020 and beyond. These neighborhood-level tours focus on five different sectors of the city, as described below. For each sector, you will get a first-hand look at the:

  • Large-scale (new) real estate projects that are under construction and/or planned
  • Large-scale redevelopment projects that are under construction and/or planned
  • Transit infrastructure that is currently in place and/or planned (e.g., More MARTA)
  • Parks, trails and greenways that are under construction and/or planned

Importantly, these tours will provide you with a solid understanding of the location, type, scope and timing of each of these projects. You will also walk away with a better grasp on the impact they are having in (on) the surrounding neighborhoods.

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER THIS TOUR?

  • Anyone who would like to better understand how, why and where Atlanta is growing the way it is;
  • Those who want to become more familiar with the rich and evolving tapestry that has been (is being) woven by Atlanta’s many unique neighborhoods;
  • Real estate industry professionals including commercial and residential agents, investors, builders, developers and lenders;
  • New residents and those planning to re-locate to the Atlanta area.
  • The registration fee for this tour may be tax-deductible as a business expense. Please check with your tax advisor for guidance.
  • This is a 3-hour guided tour in 12-passenger executive touring van

While this is NOT a “Beltline Tour” the Atlanta Beltline Redevelopment Plan comes into play at various stops along the way so you will get to see that first-hand (see this map). You will also receive the latest information available related to trail, transit and greenspace development.
