The Outrage and Black Women Radicals are co-hosting a series of events to highlight Black women's historical and contemporary leadership.
A self-described “black, lesbian, mother, warrior, poet,"Audre Lorde (February 18, 1934–November 17, 1992) was a Grenadian-American activist, organizer, writer, Black feminist, and socialist who dedicated her life to addressing and confronting homophobia, racism, sexism, and classism through the power of her pen and words.
On what would have been her 86th birthday, join us for a film screening of AUDRE LORDE: THE BERLIN YEARS (1984 to 1992) and a post-film screen dialogue on the life and legacy of Audre Lorde, who later renamed herself Gamba Adisa which means “she who makes her meaning known.”
