Join us at THE Gallery at Le Meridien CHambers for the Launch Celebration of world renowned Minnesota fine artisit Richard Merchan.
Venezuelan-born artist Richard Merchán celebrates the culture of France. He celebrates its rich architecture, strong sense of décor and yes, even the petite croissant, all in time for Bastille Day. This body of recent work reflects the artist’s journey south from Paris, through the region of Provence, along the French Riviera, the Mediterranean seaside, the hills of Monaco and back. Merchán co-resides between Lake Minnetonka and Sonoma County and is no stranger to vineyards, hills and beautiful landscapes. Having studied art at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in the mid 70’s, the choice to return to Minnesota was easy. Merchán embraces all seasons, including Winter. The artist’s career includes a rich and wide range of genres and a colorful evolution of vibrancy and technique. At the young age of 14, Merchán migrated to United States. Landing first in Miami, his moves took him to Minneapolis, New York City and San Francisco. Each region has inspired his paintings and sculptures.
