The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates individuals about disaster preparedness and trains and organizes teams of volunteers that can support their communities during disasters. The CERT Program offers training in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety and suppression, light search and rescue, triage and basic disaster medical operations. With proper CERT training, you can help protect your family, neighbors, and co-workers if a disaster occurs.
To become a CERT member, one must complete the classroom training being offered to USF students, staff, and faculty for FREE. Training will occur over the course of three days, all participants must attend all three days of training to receive their FEMA CERT Basic Training Certificate.
