NYSBC is a coalition of coalitions, bringing together representatives from the local and statewide breastfeeding networks and coalitions, organizations and other stakeholder organizations to serve as a voluntary Board of Directors in a united voice to see that breastfeeding is supported in all environments to promote optimal health and development in New York State.

The Board of Directors of NYSBC represent our state on the United States Breastfeeding Committee, and serves as your organization's voice for breastfeeding advocacy in New York State.

Some of our past activities have included training more than 350 people across New York State in the Business Case for Breastfeeding Toolkit, providing mini-grants to local breastfeeding networks to assist them with workplace lactation programs. Annually, in the past,  we have supported our local breastfeeding coalitions with mini-grants to assist them with World Breastfeeding Week celebration activities. 

Our annual educational conferences have been successful in bringing together breastfeeding advocates from across the state to hear the latest in clinical information and advocacy efforts from the top names in lactation. 

Your annual donation offers you a voice in the advocacy work of the New York Statewide Breastfeeding Coalition, and will keep you apprised of new legislation needing your action and opinion, conferences and other lactation-related events in New York State and nationally.

2019 was the first year of our Increasing Diversity Annual Scholarship for the IBCLC exam! Your annual donation will help to support our brand new IBCLC Exam Scholarship Fund, allowing several eligible NYS residents the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to be able afford to sit for the IBCLC exam in 2020.

Friends of the NYSBC make an annual donation to the organization and are identified as member of a core group of supporters who take an interest in our mission “to drive collaborative efforts for policy and practices that create a landscape of breastfeeding support across New York State.” The NYSBC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, and your contribution is tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Visit our website at www.nysbreastfeeding.org to learn more about us!  As a Frend of NYSBC, you will receive updates on all NYSBC activities and action alerts to help you lend your voice to pertinent breastfeeding legislation and policy, learn about conferences and trainings in NYS and have the opportunity to list your local breastfeeding coaltion contact information on our website. Individual supporters are able to apply for mini-grants for their local coalitions as they become available.

Donate $30 and you'll receive a bumper sticker!

Donate $50 and receive a set of 5 bumper stickers! Pass them along to your coworkers in your office or share them with fellow supporters and advocates.

Organization (non-profit) Friend Donation

An Organizational Friend of the NYSBC makes an annual donation to NYSBC and is identified as a core group of supporters who take an interest in our mission "to drive collaborative efforts for policy and practices that create a landscape of breastfeeding support across New York State."

In addition to the benefits listed above for individuals, with prior Board approval, your non-profit organization will receive a link (including your logo) on the NYSBC website.  Organizational representatives have the potential to nominate themselves to Board positions, with Board approval.
