Join us at Penrose Square for our 5th annual Winter Wonderland on Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 2pm-5pm!
Penrose Square Winter Wonderland is a free event that welcomes all Arlington County residents to celebrate the holiday season together as a community. In an effort to share all of the wonderful businesses and organizations that Arlington has to offer, Penrose Square partners with Arlington Arts, Columbia Pike Revitalization Organization (CPRO), Arlington's Third District Police Department, the Fire Department, local businesses, and non-profits to host a variety of craft tables that are fun for all ages!
Additionally, Santa and Mrs. Claus love to make an appearance each year and hear all about your holiday wish list! Photos with Santa are welcomed!
This year, Arlington Arts will be organizing a Yeti Parade around the Penrose Square Park. Want to join in the Yeti fun?
ROYALLY SUSTAINABLE Crown & Pennant Making!
Use Sustainable materials to make a Yeti Pennant and Crown (no plastic!)
Crown making: 2-5. Parade: 4pm.
Make a Yeti-themed pennant and crown using de-commissioned file folders, stencils, colored pencils and rubber stamps! Then show your holiday spirit by joining the Yeti Parade led by everyone’s favorite mythical snow creature and live music by the Alan MacEwan Band! As a continuation of Arlington's waste reduction efforts and EcoAction Arlington’s Plastic Free Challenge, this art activity includes no single-use plastic products. At Winter Wonderland, EcoAction Arlington will showcase how residents can reduce their use of single-use plastic items with simple alternatives.
EcoAction Arlington is a community nonprofit organization that protects and improves water, air, and open spaces in the Arlington community. Their programs provide opportunities for people to reduce their footprint on the planet by reducing energy use, planting trees, and protecting our waterways.
