Please join us for this incredible opportunity to hear from the region's leaders in Suicide Prevention during this training! Jennifer Barron, Director of Training at Forefront Suicide Prevention, as well as local community resources will join us for an evening of processing and discussion around how we, as members of this community, can prevent suicide in our youth. As part of this training, parents, community providers, and natural supports for teens are encouraged to come together to address the recent increase in teen suicides in Snohomish County. Attendees will learn about suicide warning signs, how to help our youth process the loss of a loved one, how to talk about suicide, and how to support each other. Attendees will also have the chance to meet with local service providers and gather resources to distribute to their loved ones. Specifically, Ms. Barron will walk us through the LEARN steps. The LEARN™ steps are designed to help empower individuals to play a role in recognizing peers, friends, and family who might be having thoughts of suicide, and to know how and where we can refer those individuals to keep them safe. L: Look for Warning Signs E: Empathize and Listen A: Ask directly about Suicide R: Remove the Danger N: Next Steps This learning opportunity is FREE to all attendees. *Location may be changed to a meeting room with larger capacity based on group size, so please check for location updates. *No childcare provided at this time.
