Scott Gerber, who embodies an unlikely mix of Yiddish and cowboy cultures, learned Yiddish and progressive songs from his mother and grandmother. A descendant of the left-wing Petaluma chicken ranchers, Gerber carries on both Yiddish and ranching traditions, and proudly works in agriculture. He frequently rides the range and sings cowboy and Yiddish songs at Simcha Sunday and a local Irish bar.
Shown in conjunction with the current exhibition "Levi Strauss: A History of American Style."
