Description Want to wield a foil? Fencing class teaches students the basics of attack and defense as well as strategies that create the foundation for their fencing game. Fencing is statistically a safe and low injury sport as dictated by the Olympic Committee, so come as a family and have a surprisingly fun and memorable time. Classes are taught by Fencing Sports Club. Fencing equipment procedure: Fencers must rent equipment for the session or purchase their own basic set (est. $110). If you prefer to purchase a personal beginner set, the Club is happy to quickly assist with ordering from Blue Gauntlet. Participant must attend first class with their new set in hand. At the end of session, you may discuss with the club about their beginner equipment buy back options. NOTE: A 2nd family member will receive a 50% discount - registration can be done online or in person at The Community House to receive this discount. Instructors: Fencing Sports Club (Tracy & Vladimir Lapshin) The Cook County Department of Public Health today announced that all individuals, regardless of vaccination status, will be required to wear a mask indoors, beginning on Monday, Aug. 23. The order (below) requires that all people above age two who can medically tolerate a mask to wear one in multi-unit residential buildings and public places, such as restaurants, movie theaters, retail establishments, fitness clubs, and on public transportation.
