February Owl Prowl with the Center for Wildlife
On Thursday February 20th, Maine Beer Company will host an Owl Prowl to benefit our friends at the Center for Wildlife. Price includes a beer in the tasting room, Environmental Education Program with the Center For Wildlife & their owl ambassadors, and a owl prowl through the local woods (contingent on weather).
This fun event introduces participants to the amazing adaptations of native owls and provides you with the tools to look for them in the wild. We’ll meet in the private event space at Maine Beer Company at 5:00 for a beer, followed by an educational session beginning at 5:30pm to learn about native owl species, their ecology, adaptations, and meet local representatives up close!
Following the presentation, we’ll have guests drive over to Freeport Conservation Trust's Sayles Field (Directions: The entrance to Sayles Field is on the left side of Pine Street a short walk north of the four corners in South Freeport. Park on South Freeport Road.) to take a short walk into the surrounding habitat to call for owls and listen for whooo might call back.
