Sick and tired of stuttering?
Our most popular course is returning this May. See how this group is changing lives!
"Thank you for running the group course, it was really great, and I feel like I made some solid progress. After the class, I went to Remington's for dinner, and I ordered a burger, and when she asked how I wanted it cooked I was able to say "medium", which has usually been hard for me for some reason. In fact I would often not order a burger, or say "well-done" to avoid stuttering! I even made a little small talk with the waitress about them suspending the NBA season (the news was breaking while I was there). Anyway, little things, that for most would be insignificant, but for me they felt pretty big! The course has given me confidence to try dating again, I went on facebook dating and met someone who seems great, I will meet her on Sunday! I am not worried about the stutter, I am just looking forward to getting to know her."
This course integrates peer support, discussion, technique practice, and desensitization activities to help garner confidence and build strong communication skills. We implement principles of Avoidance Reduction Therapy and Acceptance and Committment Therapy in a supportive, fun environment. We will address the following topics and more:
Underneath the iceberg: the psychological components of stuttering
Forward moving speech: learn tools for navigating tension-filled stutters
Self-disclosure to conquer fear IRL
