Weaving is one of mankind's most ancient crafts and has manifested in different myths throughout the world. In this class we will explore these myths as metaphoric lenses to examine our own personal and collective mythologies.
Combining the creative process of tapestry weaving with narrative exploration and group dialogue, we can cultivate a deeper understanding of the structures of our lives, our internal and external relationships, and our being in this big world. No experience is necessary, just an open heart-mind.
Abby Schnure is a conceptual weaver, educator and community arts organizer living and working in Cincinnati, OH. She received her BFA in Textile Arts from Kent State University in 2016. Since, she has taught weaving for children to seniors and believes that weaving can be for everyone. You can find her around town with her loom in tow with an enthusiasm to teach weaving to anyone who is interested.
