Join Joshua Oduga, A+P’s Exhibition and Public Programs Manager, for an informative tour of Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection. Oduga will be explaining the some of the repeated artistic techniques and discussing the importance of these techniques. Oduga will also explore what it means for artists to work in different mediums. As a viewer, what can be taken away from a photographer choosing to work in video or performance, for instance?
The artworks in the exhibition span multiple decades. Oduga will pose the question as to how shifts in society, technology and material availability have impacted the way artists make their art. Overall, Oduga will show how an understanding the process of creating is necessary for understanding the work itself.
This program is organized on the occasion of Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection on view at Art + Practice through August 1, 2020. Collective Constellation: Selections from The Eileen Harris Norton Collection is presented by Art + Practice in collaboration with the Hammer Museum and organized by their Associate Curator Erin Christovale.
