Come out and see L.A. guitarist extrordinaire Cliff Brown and Friends at the World Stage for two shows only on September 22. Cliff Brown is a graduate from Howard University with a B.A. in Jazz Studies. He also spent a period of time in the Navy playing jazz. In 1989 he settled in Los Angeles and worked with many notable artist including Johnny Gill, Howard Hewitt, Freda Payne and Barbara Morrison.The left-handed guitarist has also put in his share of time with the TV and movie industry. He has worked on : China Beach and Why Do Fools Fall in Love (Warner Bros.) , For the Boys (20th Century Fox), Las Vegas (Universal Studios), Melrose Place and Star Trek :Voyager (CBS) and Primal Fear and The Thing Called Love (Parmount Pictures). While hanging out and sitting-in at the World Stage he recorded a CD with members of the group Black Note in the early 1990's. The CD was subsequently released in 2007 under his own name. Brown then followed up that CD "In the Meantime" with a two-song release entitled " Mandingo Street Warrior" which features saxophone giant Azar Lawrence. He also has a long standing association with the L.A. R&B cover band The Sai Whatt Band for which a CD "The Sai Whatt Band" was recorded in 2013. Cliff Brown's friends include producer,composer and performer Cire on keyboards, captivating drummer Will Logan, bassist Michael Saucier, Mark Heartsuch on saxophones, and engaging vocalist Felicia Bossier.
