Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179), the patron saint of beer, also made "cookies of joy" for her monastery sisters. "If you eat three to five of these on a daily basis, it creates a cheerful countenance, lightens a heavy heart and reduces the effects of aging."  Hildegard lived to age 81.
