Equity, Diversity & Inclusion _Online Learning Path - City of Baltimore Virtual Learning Center 

Within 48 business hours from completing this registration, you will receive an email from hr.elearning@baltimorecity.gov containing your Virtual Learning Center login information.

  • Online access will be given during a seven day period of your choice.
  • NOTE: Access begins on the date you select no matter which day of that week you begin the course.
  • Courses can be accessed from a computer, tablet, or phone (You will need to have sound on your device)

Once registration is complete, access week cannot be changed.

Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

This course is for City of Baltimore Employees only.

Diversity, equity, inclusion. Organizations use these words as they strive to become more diverse, yet many are uncertain about the steps needed to turn dialogue – and intention – into action. When organizations effectively demonstrate a value for diversity and implement inclusive strategies, productivity, employee morale and customer service delivery improves. This learning path is designed to build inclusive skills, address unconscious bias, enhance cross-cultural communication to make effective change and achieve equity at all levels whether they manage people, structures, policies, programs, and/or practices.

Learning Path Courses:



  • Diversity on the Job:  This course highlights the benefits of workplace diversity and the barriers that must be overcome in order to create such an environment. Self-awareness of attitudes toward diversity, cultures, people and ideas, while learning to advocate for diversity within the workplace.


  • Global Diversity:  In this course, you'll learn about the characteristics of inclusive workplaces, discover the challenges and how to recognize discrimination and bullying. You'll also cover workplace inclusion and accommodation practices, including strategies for promoting inclusion, and how inclusion policies and procedures support employees.


  • Unconscious Bias:  You'll learn about types of unconscious bias and strategies for overcoming them both as an individual and as part of an organization.


  • Cross-Cultural Communication:  You'll learn the fundamental aspects of cross-cultural communication, as well as guidelines and best practices for speaking and writing across cultures. 


  • Compliance Short: Unconscious Bias - In this course, you will observe ways unconscious biases can impact workplace relationships.
