U.S. EPA Proposal to Reclassify Denver Area to Serious Non-attainment for Ozone

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to determine that the Denver Metro/North Front Range ozone non-attainment area did not meet the 2008 National Ambient Air Quality Standard (NAAQS) by the specified deadline and should be reclassified from a Moderate to a Serious non-attainment area. EPA will hold a public hearing at the Agency’s regional office in Denver on September 6 to provide the public with an opportunity to present oral testimony on the proposal. Those interested in speaking at the hearing can sign up for a five-minute speaking slot until September 3. Pre-registered speakers will be notifed by email with their approximate speaking time. If you require the service of a sign language interpreter, translator, or other special accommodations such as audio description, please preregister for the hearing and describe your needs by August 26, 2019. We may not be able to arrange accommodations without advanced notice. EPA will use your registration information soley for this event.
