Envision

The Summit:

The New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence presents Envision: Transforming the Landscape of Domestic Violence Response in New York State.

Approaching the topic with an inclusive social and racial justice lens, Envision will allow participants to explore how Domestic Violence Reform in New York State will shape the lives of victims and the professionals who serve them.

The Summit will include workshop sessions in Healthcare, Legal/Criminal Justice Systems, and Domestic Violence Service Provision to show how these systems and professionals can work together to better respond to domestic violence in New York State.

Location:

Envision will be held at the Empire State Plaza Concourse, Meeting Room 6 under the Empire State Plaza. Find directions to the concourse here and a map of the concourse here. The Plaza can also be accessed via public transportation.

Parking:

There are several parking options, both indoor garages and outdoor lots, within walking distance of the plaza. You may also be able to take public transportation from your hotel.

Please call one of the following preferred hotels to make your reservation: Hilton Garden Inn; Albany Medical Center; Fairfield by Marriott; Downtown, Hilton, Downtown; Townplace Suites, Downtown/Medical Center.

Food:

Breakfast

Day one: Coffee and tea will be provided. There are water bottle filling stations in the concourse. Day two: A lite continental breakfast, coffee and tea will be provided.

Lunch

Attendees will have 90 minutes for lunch. There are many choices for meals and snacks in the Concourse. There are also vendors and food trucks outside on Washington Avenue and State Street outside of the Capital. On Wednesday there is a farmer's market with additional food vendors on the plaza above the concourse.

Accommodations:

If you need any other accommodations for the conference, including translators, please let us know by May 20th.

A few things to keep in mind:

Therapy dogs will be on site, located in a dedicated space.

Gender Neutral bathrooms will be available.

If you need a quiet space, there are spaces within the Concourse that can accommodate you. Please ask for a concourse map at the registration table.

There is a lactation pod in the concourse, outside the Plaza Operations office in the hallway between Agency Building 1 and the Corning Tower.

OPDV staff will be available to provide assistance at any time during the event.
