What Makes an Entrepreneur Entrepreneurial? – Learn about Effectuation

The Hillsborough Community College Entrepreneurship Program is growing rapidly. We have recently launched our college and community wide innovation center called the InLab@HCC. Operation Startup is now part of the InLab, which now offers a wider variety of program and service offering that include this at Operation Startup. 

PLEASE NOTE, this workshop will be held at the Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry Campus located at 4001 W. Tampa Bay Blvd -- Social Sciences Building (DSSC on the campus map), second floor room 204 -- HCC InLab Innovation Center. Parking on campus is FREE and not pass is required. This program is for everyone who has a business idea!   Have you ever wondered what makes an entrepreneur, entrepreneurial? Learn how expert entrepreneurs think and operate in the real world of business formation. This reseaerch and the entrepreneurial method was developed by our friend Dr. Saras. Sarasvathy from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Your facilitators are Professor Beth Kerly and Dr. Andrew Gold.

Beth is a full-time tenured business faculty member at Hillsborough Community College, and adjunct faculty at the University of Tampa.  In addition to her teaching activities, Kerly serves as the co-founder of the HCC Entrepreneurship and Innovation program. She actively works in promoting and building community and business relationships for HCC and its students. Professor Kerly is also co-founder of e2Venture and Operation Startup.

Andy is a longtime social entrepreneur, educator and cofounder of Operation Start Up and e2Venture. Dr. Gold is a full-time business faculty member at Hillsborough Community College, and teaches in the graduate school at the University of Tampa, and the University of South Florida. Gold is a co-founder of the HCC Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program, serving as an internal entrepreneurial evangelist at HCC.

In this program, you will learn how to start with what you have and take action on your ideas.  You don't have to wait to get started! Learn how expert entrepreneurs think and operate in the real world.

All InLab@HCC Workshops align with The Business Model Canvas, a tool used by entrepreneurs and business owners to validate their ideas.
