Empowerment Groups for Girls
A five-week series to help girls navigate growing up in today's world. We create a safe space for girls to express themselves and to reflect on any emotions, challenges and situations they may be dealing with. Our program offers them tools on how to manage what they face in our fast-paced society and most of all the importance of practicing self-love and care.
We cover relevant themes for young girls such as:
• Positive body image
• Boundaries and consent
• Conflict Resolution/ Bullying
• Tools for dealing with anxiety and stress
• Redefining beauty
• Self-love and much more!
We weave in a theme each week through games, journaling, discussions, art, music and movement. We focus on fostering healthy relationships among each other as girls, friends, and classmates. We provide tools based on non-violent communication skills and conflict resolution awareness. We help build compassion for others, and most of all for themselves.
It is held on Sundays at the beautiful Casa de Luz, located in Central Austin. 1701 Toomey Road, Austin, TX 78704.
Time: 1-3:30pm each session. (2 1/2 hour sessions).
The dates are as follows for Spring 2020:
• March 29th
• April 5th
•April 19th
• May 3rd
• May 10th
Every date is a Sunday.
(Take note two weekends are skipped in April, one being Easter weekend, and the series will end May 10th).
The cost is $180 for the whole series and we do offer full and partial scholarships. Please just inquire.
