Empowering Strong Minds and Healthy Hearts: Your Mental Health and The Impact of Substance Abuse

Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc., is holding its 3rd annual mental wellness event, Empowering Strong Minds and Healthy Hearts: Your Mental Health and The Impact of Substance Abuse on Saturday, February 1, 2020 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Bayard Middle School 200 South DuPont Street, Wilmington, DE.

This free event will focus on mental health and substance abuse, providing coping skills and resources to promote healthy and successful families and communities. Our dynamic speakers will provide information on understanding addiction and getting help for you and your family; resolving conflict, dealing with depression, anxiety and anger; and accessing community resources.  Interactive fun self-care activities.

The target audience is youth ages 11-17 and women and men age 18 and older.   Due to the nature of the topics no children under 11 will be allowed.    

Workshops will be facilitated by professionals and knowledge experts. Additionally, there will be healthy living and community resource exhibitors.

Free lunch will be provided.

Wilmington (DE) Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., chartered on March 6, 1949 in New Castle County, has over 300 members. The chapter is a non-profit organization that provides community service through its Five-Point Programmatic Thrust.
