The emergence of the discipline of Qigongology is the result of experimental and clinical data from modern medicine and clinical research combined into a 20 year study and careful analysis of the theories and methods of Qigong/The Five Elements. In this workshop-retreat, Professor Tianjun Liu, director of the Qigong Research Laboratory at Beijing University of TCM, will explore the fascinating findings of this research study which include specific recommendations (outlined in his work Chinese Medical Qigong) on the use of Qigong Form, the Five Elements and Qigong Therapy in the treatment of a vast range of medical conditions. Practical methods, skills, disease-related clinical applications, age reversal, and “Classical Qigong Lite” will be discussed. With a focus on ailments more common to the West, Dr. Lui will present the latest groundbreaking discoveries on the use of Medical Qigong for treating psychological as well as physiological disorders.
Dr. Tianjun Liu is professor and the Director of the Qigong Research Laboratory, at the Beijing University of TCM, where he has taught Qigong for more than 20 years. He is Secretary General of The National Qigong Education and Study Association, as well as the first government-sanctioned Academic Mentor for Ph.D. candidates in the field of Medical Qigong in China. He is Editor of Chinese Medical Qigong (Zhong Yi Qigong Xue), the official Medical Qigong text used in China’s TCM schools and universities.
