The 2020 Edison Lecture Series will take place on Friday, January 31 at The University of Texas at Austin's Engineering Education and Research building.
The Edison Lecture Series engages middle and high school students with the fun side of electrical and computer engineering. Edison attendees learn the fundamentals of an engineering topic through a university-style lecture, then see these concepts come to life through hands-on demos. Be part of the excitement!
The 2020 lecture topic is Embedded Medicine. Recent advances in technology have changed how we deliver healthcare in hospitals, clinics, and homes. Learn how electrical & computer engineering plays a role in health care innovations like:
Prosthetics that are controlled by the human brain
Smart pills capable of targeted drug delivery
Robotics in surgical suites
Health care using Smart Phones and the Internet of Things
Come to the Edison Lecture Series to explore this new frontier in electrical & computer engineering!
AGENDA
Lecture Session A: 10 AM - 11 AM
Lecture Session B: 11 AM - 12 PM
Lecture Session C: 12 PM - 1 PM
All of the lectures are the same. Register to attend whichever is most convenient for your group. Plan for your group to spend at least an additional 45 minutes to an hour to browse 15 - 20 interactive electrical & computer engineering demos in our exhibit hall, which will be open from 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM!
Can’t make it on January 31? This year’s Edison lecture will be repeated at Explore UT on Saturday, March 7, 2020.
The 2020 Edison Lecture Series is supported by Emerson.
