Eclectic Soul Sunday too! Iman Adero and spotlight Oye' #rebirthofsoul

#feature: Iman Adero, an NJ native, has been singing her entire life. She began singing in church, as most R&B singers do, at 8 years old, singing her first solo in a selection with her brothers. Since then Iman Adero has sung in school choirs and musical performances. In 2017, Iman Adero decided to do what she has always wanted to do, get in the studio and record. She released her first EP, "Forward." on May 4th While Iman Adero is is an R&B singer through and through, she has a variety of musical influences, ranging from old-school R&B singers like Donny, Stevie, and Marvin; to popular artists today like Jill Scott and Janelle Monae. #spotlighton Oye (pronounced OH-YAY) is a storyteller-Poet from Atlanta GA, who relocated to DC to attend Howard University in 2008. At Howard, she fell in love with spoken word as an art form and has been performing ever since. She's performed at birthdays, weddings, and other events, and has been a spotlight/feature artist at shows throughout DC including Pure Poetry DC, Busboys and Poets, and Stonefish Lounge. Oye uses poetry as a platform to tell stories that inspire empathy, and gain and provide insight into the different facets of our collective human experience.
