CAPE FEAR RIVER ASSEMBLY DRINKING WATER FORUMS
Drinking water quality is an important issue across the state. Citizens, government officials and others are increasingly concerned and want objective information about safety of public drinking water. At the same time, we know that everyone’s voices must be heard. The Cape Fear River Assembly is holding a series of Drinking Water Forums to inform and involve as many people as possible. These workshops will focus on leveraging science and policy for clean water in the Cape Fear River, as well as the Haw River and Jordan Lake.
First, an official from the NC Department of Environmental Quality will explain drinking water regulation and monitoring. Next will be a presentation by a major drinking water supplier in the area. After that everyone will have the chance to make comments and ask questions about drinking water as a group. There will be refreshments, posters, and the chance to network. These Forums are free and open to the public.
These forums will be held at four locations throughout the month from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Please register for one (or more!) of these free events using the "Register" button:
