Dream Dance: The Art of Ed Emshwiller is the first major monographic exhibition of the artist’s groundbreaking work in film, video and visual art. With an immensely diverse body of creative work, Ed Emshwiller (1925–1990) is perhaps one of the most significant, yet under-recognized, artists of the latter half of the 20th century. An extensive exhibition featuring paintings, illustrations, videos and archival material will be open Oct. 18–Dec. 7 at University of the Arts’ Rosenwald-Wolf Gallery.
A complementary film series of his work is happening at Lightbox Film Center, 3701 Chestnut St., Philadelphia 19104.
