This is a class co-sponsored by MI and
Agents receive anywhere from 10 -100 queries a day over the transom. So your letter needs to grab their attention quickly. The good news is that many agents really do look carefully at their “slush pile” (the charmless term agents use for unsolicited queries). In this class, we will discuss the elements of a good query letter, how to write one that will grab the attention of the agent. In advance of this class, I’d like you to prepare a draft query for the book project you are working on. Don’t worry about whether it’s good or not. That’s what this class is for. We will workshop these queries in class. Additionally, the instructor will provide notes and edits for each of the queries that he receives.
For each class, we reserve the right to cancel at any time and issue a full refund. If you are unable to attend your class, please email
