Division A International Speech Contest 2020

About this Event

There will be plenty of food, fun, and fiesta as Division A celebrates the best speakers in our Division going head-to-head for the right to compete in the District 36 International Speech Contest! Our Division A Contest will be held at the Securities and Exchange Commission (S.E.C.)building, 100 F St NE, Washington DC 20549 from 6-9 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.

Please sign up to attend ASAP, but please RSVP no later than noon on Tuesday, April 14th to avoid delays at the S.E.C. security desk. All attendees must have a valid U.S. Government-issued picture ID card (driver's license, passport, Federal worker badge, etc.) If you do not have a government-issued ID, please contact, call, or text Division A Director Clelia Ayala-White at Clelia8.TM@gmail.com or (202) 468-2378. All attendees should plan on arriving between 5 pm and 6 pm. Earlier arrivers will have to remain in the waiting area until an escort is available. To gain access after 6 pm, please contact Clelia Ayala-White as indicated above. At the S.E.C. Guard's Station, attendees should give the security guards Pamela Timus' name. The guards will call Pamela to meet and escort guests to the contest venue, which is the S.E.C. Multipurpose Room.

DONATIONS TO HELP DEFRAY THE COSTS OF FOOD AND PRIZES ARE MUCH APPRECIATED, WHICH WILL BE COLLECTED AT THE ENTRANCE!

Arriving by public transportation: Whether traveling via Metro, MARC, VRE, etc., the closest stop is Union Station. No need to exit Union Station to gain access to the S.E.C. building. On the main level, walk towards McDonald's; pass guards to the left; keep walking over the connecting walkway until you see the escalator or elevator. Go down to Level 1. Once you get off, you will see S.E.C. guards.

Driving: Union station offers parking by the hour. Once you park at Union Station, take the escalator or elevator to Union Station's main level. Once you're on the main level, walk towards McDonald's; pass guards to left; keep walking over the connecting walkway until you see the second set of escalators or elevators. Go down to Level 1. Once you get off, the S.E.C., you will see S.E.C, guards.
