Join Onondaga Audubon for a celebration of spring migration with a day of field walks and birding at one of the premier birding locations in the Northeast - Derby Hill!
Board members and volunteers will be leading field walks to identify birds and nature throughout our field and forested trails on the hour, every hour. We will have spotting scopes set up on our bluff for prime lake watching opportunities. Our 2017 Hawk Counter, Anna Stunkel, and other hawk watching experts will be available to help spot and identify migrating raptors. We will also have informational booths on Onondaga Audubon, conservation opportunities in CNY, and there may be a small number of native plants for sale. We will also have a small raffle for beautiful bird art with all proceeds to support the organization and our mission: to engender a greater appreciation for the land, water, and other natural resources, and to increase respect for the wildlife that inhabits these places, especially birds.
This is a family friendly event open to adults and children of all ages. We hope you attend and bring a friend!
