FAST FACTS ABOUT ESTHER'S AID

Our Mission:  We Care, We Educate, We Train, We Empower.  We bring hope to the hopeless.  We repair and transform broken lives.

1)  1999, Esther's Aid is founded by Clare Effiong in New Rochelle, New York for outreach to the poor and needy within the local communities.

2)  2000, Clare goes to Kigali, Rwanda and relocates the Mission, in order to rescue the orphans of the 1994 genocide. Over 75,000 children & women left victims of this horror.

3)  The first few children are rescued from the dump to be raised and educated by Esther's Aid and Founder, Clare Effiong.

4)  Education and training are all free – subsidized by the donors who graciously give to Esther's Aid. Programs include, Culinary Arts, Business & Entrepreneurship, Computer Training, Sewing and Fashion Accessories.

5)  2015, Esther's Aid creates a Program to Rescue the Victims and Survivors of Sex Trafficking. Go to www.globalgiving.org to support this project.

6)  Esther's Aid Culinary Arts Graduate, Chef Didier “Diddy” Tuyisenge puts himself through University in Rwanda, earns his BA in Economics. Keeps training other Culinary students at Esther's Aid. Wins the green card lottery in 2015 and comes to New Rochelle, NY. He is featured at our Primary Benefit, “Dinner by the Bite” in 2015 and 2016. He just returned from Rwanda and is now pursuing business opportunities and more education.

7)  2017, Esther's Aid joins forces in partnership with the International Potato Center (CIP) to promote and explore opportunities for the OFSP (Orange Flesh Sweet Potato) and RUTF (Ready to Use Therapeutic Foods) together.

8)  2017 and 2018 will be the big push to finish The Village of Peace – a complex to house Esther's Aid and its Programs to provide self-sustainability to the Organization through The Bakery, a hotel, a conference center and other income generating facilities.
