On behalf of Innovative Housing Concepts Assistant Director, you are cordially invited to our 1st Convening for the Digital Divide and increasing Digital Inclusion through ConnectHomeUSA Program. Innovative Housing Concepts, also known as Englewood Housing Authority is one of 13 new communities to participate in a national program known as ConnectHomeUSA. ConnectHomeUSA is a movement to bridge the digital divide among HUD-assisted housing residents with a goal to improve self-sufficiency, health, and digital literacy. This program strives to connect low-income households with internet service at a reasonable speed, the hardware and education to use the internet and hardware effectively. Access to online banking, medical providers, and other digital services will improve residents’ ability to age in place successfully and reduce the impact of social isolation.
Recognizing that Internet access and digital literacy are critical in our efforts to promote resident self-sufficiency and independence, IHC is committed to close the digital divide. This convening provides an opportunity to gain feedback on IHC’s ConnectHome framework and initiatives. Additionally, IHC and its partners will discuss strategies to connect households, provide hardware, and develop and implement digital literacy content.
Please feel free to invite other members of your organization or business who may be interested in partnering on some aspect of this program to improve digital literacy in our community. A light breakfast will be provided. Please RSVP by Friday, January 17th.
