Digaai SERC

Join us so that together we can experience the DIGAAI SERC!

Throughout the day we will have music, artistic performances, capoeira, yoga, discussions about the current moment, documentaries and lectures.

This is an experiment of empowerment and joint creation of new and creative ways of responding to the social emergencies we face today.

In emergencies such as hurricanes and tsunamis, emergency response centers exist to coordinate evacuations or provide services such as temporary housing, food and water. We want to re-imagine these centers so that they also take on the real and urgent social emergencies that we face today.

Think of the "Muslim Ban" and the answers at airports; the fight for sanctuaries cities and states, the defense of immigrants' dignity, the defense of the people's rights as human beings, not only citizens. The killing and indiscriminate incarceration of black folks (mass incarceration), the mass deportation of immigrants (mass deportation). These are the current social emergencies. SERCs are ways to get together and think about how we organize to re-act and ACT!
