Delaware Correctional Reentry Symposium
The Delaware Department of Correction is hosting a full-day Reentry Symposium, on January 23, 2019. The intended audience for the event is individuals and agencies of all sizes with an interest in learning about the state’s efforts toward advancing reentry reform and who are committed to contributing to the effort. This Symposium is designed to provide an overview of the newly formed Delaware Correction Reentry Commission (DCRC), introduce principles of evidence-based practices in corrections, and to offer information about behavioral health diagnosis, treatment, and discharge planning as a blueprint to improve reentry services for justice-involved men and women leaving our correctional facilities.
Topics of Discussion Include:
This event is open to community based reentry service providers, individuals with an interest in this work representing but not limited to; Formerly Justice-Involved Individuals, Homelessness Prevention, Transitional Programs, Social Service, Faith Based Organizations, Mental Health Service Providers, Substance Use Disorder Treatment Programs, Criminal Justice and Court Representatives, Legislators, Workforce Development Providers, Employment, Education, Training and Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Veterans Services, and State (DOE, DSAMH, DHSS, DOL, DOC) and County Agency Representatives.
Event seating is limited, the registration deadline is January 15, 2019. A continental breakfast and lunch will be served.
