Join the Celiac Disease Program from Children's National Health System for our 2019 Back to School Workshop where families will learn everything they need to know to ensure a safe year at school while on a gluten-free diet. The workshop is designed for parents and children to attend together. The forum will feature discussion and activities including:

Evaluating potential areas for concern at school

Meeting with school administrators, teachers, psychologists, dietitians and food service staff

Setting up a 504 plan with sample accommodations

Handling tricky situations with friends, teachers and coaches

Planning ahead for school celebrations and field trips

Developing effective methods of communication with school personnel

Connecting with additional resources
