People for Urban Progress is bringing you a new design series focusing on quality, conversation, and innovation.
Join us for our first installment — a brown bag lunch featuring our two inaugural City State Residents, Oliver Blank and Natasha Jimenez. Oliver and Natasha have been working at Central State Village developing and designing the residency’s identity and purpose. Come listen, see, and share in their design process and how it's been shaping City State.
City State is a new residency currently housed at Central State Mansion in the heart of Indianapolis' new design hub, Central State Village. The residency will invite practitioners from fields of civically and socially engaged design, arts, and cultural disciplines to develop projects that ask new questions, challenge assumptions, and propose creative solutions through exploration and conversation. Examining the unique and universal challenges and opportunities of our city, the residency hopes to stimulate our collective imagination towards a more just, more resilient, and a more wildly generous creative citizenry.
