What to expect...

The Data Vault CDVP2 Boot Camp class introduces solid engineering solutions to warehousing with future-proof 100% auditable analytics; scalable across multiple platforms provided through the Data Vault 2.0 System of Business Intelligence. The course covers the business justification for the DV 2.0 solution and provides a technical overview of the solution’s methodology, architecture, and model – basically, the why, what, and how aspects of designing, building, and implementing a DV 2 Enterprise Data Warehouse. The course ends with a practicum in hands-on design, ELT/ETL best practices, SQL code examples/templates.

As a Data Vault 2.0 Authorized Training Partner, DataRebels LLC, is exclusively partnered with Dan Linstedt to deliver CDVP2 training to the US Federal government as well as private sector customers within the Metro-DC area (Maryland/Virginia/DC).

Certifications

All students that attend all three days of the class will receive a Certification of Attendance from DataRebels for completing the course.

If the Data Vault 2.0 Boot Camp with Certification (CDVP2) course is purchased ,the price of the course includes one private, on-line Certified Data Vault 2.0 Practitioner exam. The student will be granted access to the on-line exam after completion of the course and will be given two weeks to complete the exam once the course is complete.

Group Pricing

Any one customer that sends eight or more students will receive a 10% discount applied to all of their students.

Cancellation Policy

All student cancellations must be processed through the online enrollment system.

Students who cancel their enrollment 14 or more business days prior to the start of the scheduled training course will be offered enrollment in a future session of the course or a full refund of their tuition, minus any processing fees.

Students who cancel enrollment more than 7, but less than 14 days prior to the start of the class, will be offered a refund of 50% of their tuition, minus processing fees.

No refunds will be available to students who cancel their enrollment within 7 days of the start of class, or to students who do not attend the class.

Classes may be canceled at DataRebel’s discretion due to inclement weather, insufficient student enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. DataRebels will make every effort to cancel classes 14 or more days prior to the scheduled start date.

In the event that DataRebels cancels a scheduled class, students will be offered a full refund of their tuition or enrollment in another scheduled session of the class.

DataRebels is not liable for travel expenses incurred due to canceled or rescheduled classes.

Instructor-led Course Prerequisites

• Students are expected to have basic knowledge of the Data Vault 2.0 model, which is available by reading the book, “Building a Scalable Data Warehouse with Data Vault 2.0”.

• 10 hours of preparatory, computer-based training CBT (included with the paid course). The CBT provides an overview to the primary engineering concepts surrounding the methodology and architecture (People, Process, and Technology) that are foundational to the Data Vault 2.0 System of Business Intelligence. The CBT should be completed prior to attending the 3-day instructor-led Boot Camp.

Instructor-led Course

Day 1

To participate effectively on a Data Vault 2.0 (DV2) implementation, team members need to understand the DV2 foundational concepts so that each member can be actively engaged in the team’s decision-making and progress. This first day of training introduces the importance of the Data Vault 2.0 approach, the methodology and architectural disciplines it envelopes, and how it incorporates and encompasses any number of technologies to deliver the business value sought by the enterprise.

Day 2

On the second day, you will cover more of the architecture and begin to dive into the modeling. This is where all three of the Data Vault Pillars are brought together. The student will begin to follow the thread from the methodology into the architecture and out to the model – comprehending why the standards and rules are paramount to the implementation. The student will also begin to understand how these Pillars ensure a successful system build within a hybrid technological environment, and will be able to put into practice current knowledge during the Group Workshop Exercise.

Day 3

We open the final day of Boot Camp with each group presenting their solution / approach to the Group Workshop problem. Each team will present and explain their design. The final day will introduce the student to advanced modeling techniques and variety of performance tuning strategies available in a Data Vault 2.0 solution.
