Class Description
This class explores strategies for learning about a person within the context of their culture and how to provide support that honors and incorporates that context. Strategies to adapt assessment and treatment approaches to be more responsive to cultural differences are examined. In addition, participants recognize how the power dynamics of privilege and dominant culture may impact therapeutic rapport and outcomes for people seeking support.
