The 2018 CSNAP Student Conference (November 9-10, 2018) is sponsored by North Carolina Campus Compact and hosted by Fayetteville State University. Started in 1993, this annual conference brings college students together to network, share ideas, and develop skills that help them be effective leaders of community and civic engagement efforts. Workshops, speakers, and activities can address volunteerism, leadership, service-learning, social entrepreneurship, advocacy, activism, and more. This year's theme is: "The Power of Youth Civic Courage: From the Civil Rights Movement to Today"
Who should attend?
All college students are welcome, even if your campus is not currently a member of the Campus Compact network. The event is especially geared for students who care about civic/community engagement, social change, and service. Faculty and staff may also attend.
What does CSNAP mean?
CSNAP captures the big ideas we hope participants explore during the event: Citizenship, Service, Networking, and Partnerships.
When is CSNAP?
The conference is a full-day event on Saturday, November 10. Participants may also attend a special, Friday evening kick-off on November 9.
Where is CSNAP?
The conference moves each year to a different campus in the NC Campus Compact network. This year we are thrilled to be at Fayetteville State University!
Can I lead a workshop?
YES! We are currently seeking student-led workshops to fill the conference breakout sessions. Submit your workshop idea by Oct. 5: http://bit.ly/CSNAP18workshop
What else happens at CSNAP?
During the day, the Community Impact Award is presented to students selected by each member campus, and the Barnhill Civic Trailblazer Award is presented to one outstanding senior student in the state. We also announce winners of the Marshall Alternative Break Scholarship, which any CSNAP participant can apply for! http://bit.ly/MarshallAB
How much does it cost?
Cost to attend is $75/pp for students/fac/staff from member campuses (including members of national Campus Compact) and $100/pp for those from non-member campuses. Check with your campus leadership, civic engagement, or community service office if you are interested in attending.
