The class facilitator, Ben Woelk, CISSP, CPTC is an accredited CPTC trainer. RIT is an Approved Training Organization.

This CPTC foundation exam preparatory class is being offered in conjunction with the Rochester Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication Spectrum Conference. Spectrum Conference attendees receive a registration discount that offsets the cost of Spectrum attendance.

Please note that the class does not include the exam fee nor provide time to take the exam. The online exam can be booked directly through APMG at https://apmg-international.com/product/cptc, and is proctored remotely. The exam fee is currently ~$250 for STC members, ~$495 for non-members. Attendees have one year to take the exam after purchasing it from APMG.

Although not required at the training class, we strongly recommend you study the body of knowledge for the exam, Richard Johnson-Sheehan, Technical Communication Today. Either the 5th or 6th edition is suitable. You can purchase or rent the book through Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Registrants will also receive an invitation to an online CPTC study group hosted on Slack.
