The vast majority of faculty at Pitt use Blackboard. Students appreciate having a single place to go for course content; however, Blackboard is so feature rich, with so many places to post items, it can be confusing to know where certain course materials should be placed. When items are placed in the wrong (or hidden and rarely used spaces), students get frustrated. This short workshop will help you get things in the right place—whether you are creating a new course from scratch or are using an inherited or cloned course--in a way that supports best practices in student learning through Blackboard. It will also help you organize your class materials – and who doesn’t need a little extra organizational help at the beginning of the semester? Additional help is available after the workshop in the Educational Technology Center (basement of Alumni Hall).
This workshop is for all full- and part-time faculty of the University of Pittsburgh only.
