Full day CME event consisting of 8 lectures on various medical topics by noted experts.  Each lecture is approved by the AAPA for 1 CME credit.  Kosher lunch included for all participants.

SPEAKERS:

CodyAnn McGovern, PA-C is a prior social worker in a prison mental health clinic turned psychiatry PA.  She is the creator of Healthyish blog, geared towards bridging the gap between health literature written for professionals and the "watered down" handouts typically given to patients, and is currently working on authoring several books with the same goal as her blog.  CodyAnn is also the creator of Mind Academy, an online academy where she offers courses on evidence based medicine about mental health and wellbeing.

Vivian Pao, MD is board certified in endocrinology. She currently is Chief of Endocrinology and Director of the Diabetes Center at University of MD St. Joseph’s Medical Center.

Ruth Horowitz, MD spent five years on the faculty of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and was a part time Instructor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is now the Chief of Endocrinology at Greater Baltimore Medical Center. She is board certified in Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism. She is a member of the Endocrine Society, American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist, the American College of Physicians, and the World Professional Association for Transgender Health.

Joseph Scheller, MD is board certified both in pediatrics and in neurology, and in addition to his fellowship in child neurology he completed a 2nd fellowship in neuroimaging.  Dr. Scheller is the former Director of the Headache Center at Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC, and travels extensively to testify as an expert witness throughout the country.

Dwayne Williams, PA-C is a well known educator in the PA world and the author of PANCE PREP PEARLS, as well as co-creator of the FLIPMED app and co-author of the Ultimate Medical Mnemonic Comic Book.  He is the director of didactic education and a clinical preceptor for the Long Island University program.  He is also an adjunct professor for the Weill Cornell Medical College physician assistant program during their didactic year and for their Physician Assistant National Certification Exam (PANCE) review courses. Dwayne has also conducted many live PANCE/PANRE review courses, review courses for residency programs as well as taught lectures for medical students and nurse practitioners. 

Adena Homnick, PA-C, PhD is the cofounder and past president of JAPA, and currently serves as the VP.  She practices dermatology in Lakewood, NJ after working first in general surgery and then spending over 15 years as Chief Trauma Physician Assistant at the UMDNJ Trauma Center in Newark, NJ, earning the University Hospital service excellence award in 2004. Adena has published extensively and presentEd her research at national medical conferences.

Dan Grove, MD is the Assistant Director for Critical Care at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital here in Baltimore. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonology, and Critical Care Medicine.

Jonathan Lerner, MBA, PA-C is the Assistant VP for Advanced Practiced Providers at Sinai Hospital / Lifebridge Health System.
