No Such Convention 2018

Welcome, welcome to No Such Convention 2018! Come and join us for video games, board games, tabletop games, talented artists, novelty merch, and more! The Con is held in the College Center building on the central campus of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Admission is free for students (college and below) and active/retired service members! FAQs 

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

If you are registering as a student or active/retired service member you will be asked to provide some form of valid ID when you receive your convention badge. For students, a school ID, report card, or email from a school official will be acceptable. There is no minimum age to attend No Such Convention. We strive to provide a family-friendly environment, but you may contact the event organizer if you have specific questions about programming or convention policy.  

Do I need a badge to enter the event?

When you arrive at the convention, report to registration to receive your convention badge. The badge is proof of your registration and must be visible and attached to your person when you are at the convention. Convention staff and/or Vassar security may request to see your badge at any time. Refusal to comply may result in removal from the event. 

What if I lose my badge? 

If you lose your convention badge, report to registration and give your name to convention staff. If you have been registered, you may receive a replacement badge. 

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is very limited parking available on Vassar's campus in the North Lot, which will be posted during the event. There is also very limited parking along Collegeview Avenue. Please comply with instructions from convention organizers and/or Vassar securtiy regarding vehicles. 

What can I bring into the event?

We welcome costumes and props, as well as trading cards and other game supplies. Anything you bring to the Convention must comply with No Such Organization's code of conduct, Vassar College's regulations, and New York state and federal law. Please contact the event organizaers with any questions or concerns. 

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Your ticket serves as your pre-registration to the event. Bring your ticket to registration when you pick up your convention badge to expedite your registration. You may register at the event without pre-registering, but it will be a longer process at the event. 

Can I update my registration information?

You may change your information at the event when you pick up your convention badge, but it will take longer to complete your registration. 

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

If you are registering as a student or active/retired service member, the name you provide on registration must match the name on the ID you will present when you receive your convention badge. 

Do I have to pay for my ticket?

Admission to the convention is free for students (college and below) and active/retired service members. You will not be charged when you reserve a ticket on Eventbrite. When you arrive at the convetntion, you will report to registration to pick up your convention badge. If you are a student or active/retired service member, you will be asked to provide proof of your status at registration, after which you will receive your convention badge for free. If you are not a student or active/retired service member, admission is $20.  

What forms of proof are accepted for student or service member status?

For students, a school ID, report card, or any official document with the student's name will be accepted (you may also present an email or letter from a school official acknowledging that an individual is a student). For service members, a valid military ID must be presented (Common Access Card, Uniformed Services Card, or Veteran ID card will be accepted). 

How much is admission if I am not a student or service member? 

Admission is $20 for anyone who is not a student or active/retired service member. This grants you admission to all convention programming on all 3 days.
