Contact Improvisational Dance (All-Levels)

Connect to your body with Alternating Instructors on Monday evenings at The Co-op at 1st.
Come for the dance @ 6:30 and option to stay for the second session: on 2nd and 4th Monday, the second session (7:30pm) is a Breathwork practice led by Monica.
All other Mondays, we host a Contact Improv Jam (all-levels) with suggested donation of $5. On occasion the jam is cancelled if we have no students for the instructed class, so please contact ahead if your intention is to come for the Jam only (MakeADifference1127@gmail.com)

Contact Improvisation is a partnered movement form that offers an open exploration of bodies moving together through space in and on the earth. It involves skills such as rolling and releasing, lifting and falling, giving and supporting weight. This constantly evolving movement form invites the energy of collaboration and healthy opposition to deepen and expand the possibilities of human connection with our bodies, the earth, and each other. The class and Jam provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for self-study and is open to dancers of all experience levels. Those new to Contact are encouraged to attend the pre-jam class and stay for the jam. All bodies are welcome in whatever form they take.

2nd and 4th Mondays @ 7:30pm - Monica Ruderman leads Breathwork, an active meditation that harnesses the breath to move energy in the body. This self-healing practice facilitates emotional release, enhanced intuition & a deep sense of grounded, loving internal clarity.
